Main Purpose of Role:
Cogent Breeding Ltd are recruiting for an experienced Fleet Manager to take ownership of our 170 Fleet vehicles which is due to expand again in the near future. The successfully appointed Fleet Manager will oversee the advanced management of our fleet vehicles, ensuring peak performance and availability. This includes coordinating maintenance, ordering new vehicles, handling insurance and claims, general upkeep reporting, budgeting and working on projects such as migration to EV and hybrid technology.

Key Responsibilities:
Managing all aspects of fleet logistics, including GPS tracking, fleet administration, and servicing. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance, quality control, and assurance standards. Maintain proper documentation and records for all fleet activities.
Schedule regular vehicle management and maintenance checkups. Hold drivers accountable, ensuring adherence to company rules and regulations. Collaborate with Operations Manager to develop strategies for improved cost efficiency.
Ensure fleet operations comply with legislation and regulations; manage appropriate insurance for drivers and vehicles
Order fleet vehicles and hire cars, assign cars to new starters, conduct check-out inspections, assist with vehicle familiarization, and provide relevant training such as fuel cards and expenses during onboarding. Provide contact details for services, tyres, windscreen, breakdown, etc.
Order fleet accessories, including car mats, seat covers, and technician supplies. Maintain fleet records to ensure they are up to date, including vehicle condition sheets and providing P46 and P11d information when requested. Liaise with third-party suppliers for electric charging point users.
Liaise with vehicle providers for car inspections, collections, and return of lease vehicles.
Issue MOT and service reminders. Liaise with internal departments regarding additions/leavers and reporting. Order/cancel fuel cards and liaise with garages for repairs.
Update cars on the insurance policy and manage hire/courtesy cars. Inspect vehicles and arrange valeting when needed. Conduct check-in inspections and process leavers.
Advise drivers of penalty notices and inform HR if necessary. Conduct regular audits to enforce company policies and regulations, including verifying driver hours and accident/incident reporting.
Essential Skills:
Prior experience working as a fleet manager, logistics manager or in a similar job role essential
Valid driver’s license to operate different modes of fleet vehicles.
Indepth knowledge of the transportation industry and its current trends.
Proficiency in using computerised fleet management software/tools.
Outstanding analytical, decisionmaking and leadership skills.
Good communication skills.
Additional Information: Our technician team work a 365-rota starting 6am onwards and therefore a requirement for you to be flexible and contactable out of core hours may be required.
In addition, your role may require you to stay away from home from time to time to attend meetings and events.
